CHAOTIC SYNTHS · 03
Chaotic FM
Each oscillator’s waveform becomes the next oscillator’s signed frequency, shaped through amount, tanh saturation, and rate stages. Unlike regular FM’s predictable sidebands, tiny phase and timing changes reshape every downstream frequency trajectory. Saturation keeps this recursive cascade bounded while producing highly sensitive, unstable, and surprising spectral motion.
A non-scrolling live spectrum of discrete low-to-high frequency bars sits behind a brighter oscilloscope trace in one layered analyzer. The complete nonlinear frequency path below shows the entry sum and every amount, tanh, rate, and sine stage in the rendered algorithm.
